Measurement While Drilling (MWD) takes the guess work out of drilling.
Rather than watch hydraulic gauges ‘flicker’ around, MWD provides the Driller with accurate,instantaneaous feedback in actual units of measurement-force,volume, pressure,speed and time.
The Driller immediately see’s the reaction of their control inputs via the MWD system. They can now calibrate and correlate their inputs with the performance of the machine and the quality of the sample being produced.
Productivity and product life (lower cost per meter) can be optimized by running tooling at the recommended parameters as opposed to “guess work”. Trainee Drillers learn much faster as they are dealing with “real values”, and not the flickering hydraulic gauge.
